Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Galette {Gluten Free}

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Galette {Gluten Free}

It’s November! Fall is in full swing and we are only a few short weeks from Thanksgiving. Although I have to say that in Minnesota it feels more like winter…we have already had quite a few snowy days. Seeing the snow makes me want to turn on the Christmas music and start decorating. Despite the snow I can’t skip over Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite holidays because it is all about the food. There isn’t the hustle and bustle of Christmas or the pressure of shopping for the perfect gift. It’s all about visiting with family, watching football, and eating way too much good food!

I am excited to say that with the holidays ahead I am partnering with the amazing folks at Chebe Bread for a three-part recipe series! Chebe makes a variety of certified gluten free mixes including pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, Brazilian cheese bread just to name a few. For this recipe series I will be working with their All-Purpose Bread Mix. I love this mix because it is easy to make and super versatile. It can be used for sweet or savory recipes and what I love most is how easy it makes it to adapt my favorite recipes to gluten free versions.

Wow your friends and family with an apple galette. Beautiful and impressive looking but super easy to make.

This would be a perfect addition to the Thanksgiving table!

The crust is chewy, yet crisp and the brown sugar cinnamon filling reminds of a toaster strudel. Remember those things? I ate way too many of those as a kid before my gluten free days.

I hope you have a fabulous holiday season ahead and be sure to use the #glutenfreejess or tag me so I can see your beautiful creations!

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Apple Galette {Gluten + Dairy Free}
Prep time
Cook time
Total time
  • 3 small apples (I used a comgo of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp gf glour blend
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 box Chebe All-Purpose Bread Mix
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 eggs (2 for dough, 1 for egg wash)
  • 4 tbsp almond milk
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Wash and slice apples into very thin pieces.
  3. Add apples, brown sugar, sugar, salt, and flour to a bowl and toss to coat. Set aside.
  4. Make the Chebe bread mix according to package directions, adding 2 tsp sugar to the dry mixture.
  5. Once the dough has been mixed and needed, roll out into a 12-14 inch circle. To roll out I coated my rolling pin with cooking spray but you could also lightly flour the surface.
  6. Place the dough circle on a sheet of parchment paper on a baking pan.
  7. Place the apple mixture onto the dough, arranging apples in a layer of circles, leaving a 2 inch border.
  8. Fold up the edges around the apples.
  9. Whisk one egg and brush a thin layer on the crust. If desired, sprinkle with about 1 tsp of sugar all around the crust.
  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the crust is slightly golden.
  11. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before cutting into to triangles to serve.
